The Fetal Medicine Unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital is a busy Level 2 Unit supporting women and families across the Herefordshire and Worcestershire System.
Due to retirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly skilled midwife to join the friendly, multidisciplinary team as the Fetal Medicine Lead Midwife. This is a permanent position for 30 hours per week.
The post holder will work autonomously, contributing to the safe, effective, and efficient running of the Fetal Medicine service, providing excellent midwifery care for women and families accessing the service. The role requires effective teamwork across professional groups and departments to ensure safe, personalized, and effective care.

Job Purpose: The post holder will lead the fetal medicine service at a local level, undertake fetal medicine clinics independently, and work within regional, national, and Trust standards. The role involves leading change, improving services, and ensuring best practice initiatives are achieved.
The post includes performing obstetric ultrasound examinations, delivering care, interpreting findings, providing counseling, and producing reports. The role also entails clinical leadership, service improvement, staff training, research, clinical governance, management, and collaborative working.
