Job Details

JeffTemps, Jefferson's in-house temporary service, is seeking qualified Fetal Sonographers to fill various temporary per diem needs at our Einstein and Center City locations. The role involves performing ultrasound and diagnostic procedures on high-risk obstetrical patients, adhering to organizational and unit policies and procedures, and following patient schedules promptly. The Fetal Sonographer is expected to provide care for a patient population ranging from adolescents to adults.

Job Description

Essential Functions
  1. Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff in alignment with Jefferson's values.
  2. Perform ultrasound examinations of prenatal patients according to protocols established by the Medical Director of the Maternal Fetal Medicine department and national guidelines, including:
    1. Level 1 and 2 ultrasound examinations
    2. Doppler flow studies
    3. Transvaginal ultrasound examinations
    4. Assist physicians with invasive uterine procedures (Amniocentesis, CVS)
    5. Maintain sterile field during procedures
    6. Review images and participate in reading sessions
    7. Perform additional images as needed
    8. Handle add-on and emergency patient procedures responsibly
  3. Maintain accurate records and documentation, including:
    1. Recording patient data
    2. Ensuring accuracy of patient information
    3. Completing patient reports and scheduling follow-ups
    4. Inputting data into reporting systems
  4. Provide education and maintain ultrasound equipment, including:
    1. Educate obstetrical residents in basic ultrasound
    2. Enter all necessary data into the ultrasound reporting system
    3. Ensure equipment functions optimally and address issues proactively
    4. Keep ultrasound machines and work areas clean
    5. Attend mandatory hospital and sonographic in-services and pursue continuing education to stay current
  5. Perform other duties as assigned
