Description

As a Perinatal Sonographer II, you will be responsible for obstetric imaging in conjunction with other members of the healthcare team at Emory Perinatal Center.

Job Duties

• Able to calibrate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Select proper transducer and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures, including real-time, M-mode, Pulse Doppler, and color Doppler imaging.
• View images on monitor screens, demonstrating hand-eye coordination.
• Create preliminary prenatal ultrasound reports for each study performed.
• Demonstrate responsibility for professional growth through work-related experiences and educational opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements

• Knowledge of fetal abnormalities, diagnosis, and proficiency in performing scans of various anatomical areas. Key knowledge of fetal anatomy, distinguishing normal from abnormal structures, is desired.
• Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients, and staff.
• Proficiency with computer skills and ultrasound software programs.

Education

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Sonography.
• Registered as a Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with OB/GYN issued by ARDMS.

Experience

• Experience performing Nuchal Translucency studies.
• At least 2 years of perinatal imaging experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification as per American Heart Association requirements.
