Job summary

The National Cherry Blossom Festival, Inc. in Washington, DC, seeks an Event Operations Manager to lead the operational planning and onsite logistics for Festival events.

You will own site operations, permitting, infrastructure, health and safety, transportation, traffic management, load-in/out, and equipment management. Working with the Senior Event Manager, you will ensure events are production-ready and compliant, coordinating with public agencies, vendors, and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in event operations, festival operations, or public events.
• Strong knowledge of site logistics, traffic, safety planning, and permit coordination.
• Excellent project coordination and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations-specific plans and timelines for Festival events.
• Own site plans, layouts, and asset management documents.
• Coordinate venue logistics for indoor, outdoor, public-space, and partner-hosted events.
• Develop transportation, traffic, and load-in/load-out plans.
• Ensure compliance with permits, signage, and safety requirements.
• Manage operations vendors, equipment, inventory, and on-site execution.
