Job summary

The City of O’Fallon is seeking energetic Festival Maintenance Workers for a part-time role supporting the Holiday Light Display and other celebrations. The position involves outdoor maintenance, basic electrical work, and assisting with set-up and tear-down for events.

Candidates should be reliable, able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, and possess a valid driver's license. Prior experience with lights and general maintenance is preferred; training and a friendly team environment are

Job description

The City of O'Fallon is looking for energetic and dependable team members for the position of Festival Maintenance Worker. This part-time opportunity is a hands‑on position with general maintenance and electrical experience is preferred. This position aides with the maintenance and operation of O'Fallon's Holiday Light Display, Celebration of Lights. Our Festival Maintenance Aides enjoy a flexible schedule along with a fun work environment and earn competitive pay with an expected starting rate of pay of $18.40-$19.00 hourly.

As part of our Recreation Division, this position plays an important role in one of the City's largest events of the Tourism and Festivals Department.

As a Festival Maintenance Worker, your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the preparation and set up/tear down of festival and event grounds
  


• Installing, maintaining and/or repairing holiday lights


• Constructing scenery for the holiday light display
  


• Using basic hand tools


• Assuring light displays are working properly, taking corrective action when necessary


• Providing information and top notice customer service to patrons

We're looking for someone who is reliable and willing to contribute support to our festivals and special events team. This person should be comfortable working with electricity and hand/power tools. This position works outdoors on rough, uneven terrain in all weather conditions. Light duty includes lifting during general festival set up or breakdown. Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required.
