Job summary

Pixel in Austin, Texas is seeking a Pharmacy Data Specialist to join our healthcare operations team. You will review prescriptions, enter data into pharmacy systems, and ensure accuracy for efficient order processing.

You will collaborate with pharmacists and Patient Care Coordinators to resolve questions, perform benefits analyses, and maintain complete patient records while following privacy and pharmacy procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience in pharmacy operations or prescription processing.
• Active Texas pharmacy technician registration required.
• Willingness to obtain additional state registrations as needed.
• Experience reviewing prescription information and benefits/insurance data.

Responsibilities

• Review and process prescriptions and order information received via fax, email, and other channels.
• Enter patient, prescription, medication, dosage, supply, and related data into pharmacy systems accurately.
• Check information for completeness and route any gaps to the appropriate team.
• Perform benefits analysis and enter insurance information to support orders.
• Confirm key information is captured before orders move through workflow.
• Route non-prescription documents to the correct department promptly.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and Patient Care Coordinators to resolve questions.
• Maintain patient records with privacy and security in mind.
• Prioritize work to meet turnaround expectations while ensuring accuracy.
