Job summary

Duke Health is seeking an Embryologist at the Duke Fertility Center located in Morrisville, NC to coordinate and participate in a variety of complex duties in Assisted Reproduction, including resolution of andrology and embryology laboratory issues, inventory management, and performing laboratory procedures per established guidelines.

Qualifications

• Two years of clinical/research experience in a reproductive lab and/or andrology lab.
• Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Zoology, Biochemistry or other related scientific field.
• Masters in related field preferred.
• RI Witness experience preferred.
• Babysentry experience preferred.
• Certification as Technical Supervisor in Andrology and Embryology by the American Board of Bioanalysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in complex duties in Assisted Reproduction including semen testing, processing for insemination, oocyte retrievals, insemination, embryo culture, biopsy, and cryopreservation of gametes and embryos.
• Perform advanced Reproductive Biology procedures.
• Monitor quality control testing and maintenance of equipment; summarize results for the laboratory director.
• Assist in developing and implementing testing methods; set up and evaluate lab equipment; standardize solutions and reagents used in diagnostic work.
• Prepare reports and analyses; act as liaison between the laboratory and physicians and clinic staff.
• Provide technical guidance to technicians, fellows, residents and students in laboratory techniques.
• Maintain inventory of materials, supplies and equipment; reorder as required.
