Job summary

Radius Recycling in Portland, OR is seeking a Recycling Operations FE Supervisor to lead ferrous processing, inventory, and shipping on the 2nd shift. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

You will supervise staff, develop SOPs with the Safety Engineer, manage WIP and FG inventories, coordinate logistics, and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years metal recycling industry experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Thorough knowledge of ferrous materials grading.
• Past supervisory experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe work practices and compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
• Create Health & Safety SOPs with Regional Safety Engineer.
• Train department staff and maintain employee files.
• Participate in Safety Committee meetings and drive safety improvements.
• Direct and coordinate ferrous processing, storage, and shipping activities.
• Monitor inventory levels of WIP and FG and ensure accurate reporting.
• Coordinate material pricing, quotes, and logistics with commercial ops.
• Support dispatch with truck scheduling and manifests.
• Collaborate with commercial ops to optimize buying and yard capacity.
• Maintain orderly work areas and perform special projects as needed.
