Job summary

Manus is seeking a Fermentation Technology Associate I in Augusta, GA to support development of microbial fermentation processes for bio-alternative products. You will prepare media, process samples, and set up/deconstruct bench-scale bioreactors alongside engineers and scientists at our Augusta BioFacility.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year lab/manufacturing experience, ability to follow SOPs, and strong data-recording skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Engineering or a related field.
• >1 year of hands-on experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting, preferably in the life sciences industry.
• Experience working with chemicals.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions, batch records, and SOPs accurately.
• Proficiency in data entry, record-keeping, and laboratory documentation.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media and other liquid solutions to support fermentation process development activities
• Maintain high standards of lab organization to support R&D efficiency to include lab cleaning, sanitation and keeping glass wear ready for use.
• Assist with the creation of batch records and SOPs for fermentation-related processes
• Participate in the set up and break down of bench scale bioreactors
• Support fermentation sample processing – including microbial staining and measurement of various analytes
• Assist with monitoring fermentation process performance when requested
• Support activities related to general lab management, maintenance, and operations
