Job summary

Manus seeks a Fermentation Technology Associate I to support the development of novel microbial fermentation processes for bioalternatives at the Augusta BioFacility. You will assist with media prep, fermentation sample processing, and bioreactor set-up with a team of engineers and scientists.

The role requires a science degree and hands-on lab experience; attention to detail, data entry, and the ability to follow SOPs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Engineering or a related field.
• >1 year hands-on experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting in life sciences.
• Experience working with chemicals.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions, batch records, and SOPs accurately.
• Proficiency in data entry, record-keeping, and laboratory documentation.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media and other liquid solutions to support fermentation process development activities.
• Maintain high standards of lab organization to support R&D efficiency including lab cleaning, sanitation and keeping glassware ready for use.
• Assist with the creation of batch records and SOPs for fermentation-related processes.
• Participate in the setup and break down of bench scale bioreactors.
• Support fermentation sample processing – including microbial staining and measurement of various analytes.
• Assist with monitoring fermentation process performance when requested.
• Support activities related to general lab management, maintenance, and operations.
