Job summary

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on fermentation experience, 2+ years of supervision, and a solid GMP/HACCP background, with hands-on experience operating bioreactors and SCADA/PLC systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on fermentation experience in a commercial food or beverage manufacturing facility.
• 2+ years of leadership on a production floor.
• Deep understanding of GMP and food safety regulations.
• Experience operating industrial bioreactors, automated control systems (SCADA/PLC), and analytical laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily fermentation operations, including culture propagation, media preparation, inoculation, and harvest.
• Monitor and adjust temperature, pH, agitation, and DO to maximize yield and consistency.
• Enforce hygiene, CIP, SIP, and other food-safety protocols to prevent contamination.
• Ensure FDA/USDA/SQF/HACCP compliance across production.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor fermentation technicians and operators.
• Maintain batch records, draft SOPs, and log data in tracking software.
• Collaborate with R&D for scale-up and QA for product approval.
