Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Feed Mill Operator in Bladenboro, NC to tend, operate, and oversee all mill operator areas—receiving, batching, production floor, loadout, and more—while ensuring quality, productivity, and safety.

You will follow SOPs for batching and pelleting, operate equipment including grinders and forklifts, prepare production and inventory reports, and monitor material flow to meet product specs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Basic computer skills desired.
• Must be able to work an average of 50 hour weeks, including night, holiday and weekend when required.

Responsibilities

• Follows standard operating procedures in all operator areas including batching and pelleting.
• Operates equipment (computer, grinders, forklift, etc.) in all mill areas.
• Maintains shift activity, production and sampling reports and reconciliations.
• Regulates flow of materials and ensures attainment of target product specs.
• Performs inventory of feed, bulk and micro ingredients; keeps areas clean and organized.
