Job summary

Christensen Farms in Forest City, IA is seeking a hands-on Feed Mill Operator to produce swine feed and support safe, efficient mill operation.

You will learn to run automated equipment, perform QA tests, document processes, and assist in warehouse tasks, with opportunities to cross-train and grow within a safety-focused team.

Entry-level candidates with a High School diploma and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-1 year experience preferred; entry-level positions available.
• Ability to operate large machinery.
• Ability to follow instructions in English.
• Cooperative attitude and teamwork essential.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, equipment and housekeeping procedures.
• Support and engage in feed mill safety initiatives.
• Operate machines to produce swine feed to established quality guidelines.
• Perform necessary quality assurance tests and make necessary adjustments to the grinding process to obtain acceptable quality.
• Operate load out equipment to properly load trucks in most efficient manner.
• Perform and monitor proper documentation of the batching, grinding, loadout, and ingredient receiving.
• Assist in warehouse operations as necessary.
• Follow defined guidelines to produce quality feed.
• Assist in routine preventative maintenance on feed mill equipment and maintain required documentation.
• Responsible for proper feed and load out scheduling.
• Responsible for proper bin management and utilization.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education, Training, and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum formal education required: High School
• Minimum number of years of prior job experience required: Entry Level, 0-1 year
