The University Writing Program's Writing Studio is seeking a part-time student assistant. This position will provide front desk support to both the University Writing Program and the Writing Studio. The receptionist is assigned to the front desk, performing daily office operational duties such as directing student inquiries and serving as the receptionist for the Writing Studio & UWP Office 1120. These tasks include scheduling student appointments, troubleshooting problems within the Penji system, and assisting in coordinating tutors. Ideal applicants will be familiar with the computer applications Penji, MS Excel, Google Docs PowerPoint, Canva, Outlook, and Word, and will have experience in assisting with special events and conferences.
The hourly rate is $15 per hour

Work Schedule
For Federal Work Study-eligible students, 20 hours a week is preferred. This position is expected to work approximately 20 hours per week, ideally Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We understand that students have varying class schedules and are open to working with the selected candidate to establish a consistent schedule that accommodates their academic commitments.
Preferred Qualifications:
A high school diploma and two years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Expertise with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as, Penji.
This position is open to all Federal Work Study students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
