Job summary

Southwestern Oregon Community College seeks a Student Worker to assist in the campus garden and greenhouse. The role offers 3 to 20 hours per week and is open only to current degree-seeking students.

Duties include watering, weeding, planting, harvesting, and composting with organic methods. Training will be provided by the Agroecology instructor. Must enroll in at least 6 credits and maintain SAP/GPA requirements, with eligibility for Federal Work-Study.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled degree-seeking student (min 6 credits).
• Must maintain SAP and a minimum GPA of 2.0.
• Must be eligible to receive Federal Work-Study (FWS) based on FAFSA.

Responsibilities

• Water, weed, plant, harvest, and compost using organic methods.
• Assist with small garden building projects and general upkeep.
• Maintain and organize tools and supplies in the garden.
• Work under the direction of the Agroecology instructor.

Oregon Coast Culinary Institute (OCCI) offers practical, competitive skills necessary to ensure rewarding career. Students receive individualizes, hands-on learning because of small class sizes. This position assists with the Southwestern campus garden and greenhouse.

This position assists with the Southwestern campus garden and greenhouse. Duties include watering, weeding, planting, harvesting, composting, and general upkeep with organic methods. Tasks may include assistance with small building projects in the garden, maintenance and organization of tools and supplies. Support and direction will be given by the Agroecology instructor.

Must be current degree-seeking student enrolled in at least 6 credits. Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. Must be eligible to receive FWS based on financial need and eligibility requirements determined by FAFSA.
