Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in San Francisco is seeking a Software Engineer to own backend features for Federal customers, building scalable cloud-native systems and data pipelines for agentic workflows.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, define requirements with stakeholders, and contribute to the platform roadmap for the Federal business, including discussing pay bands and equity where applicable. This role emphasizes security and scalable design in contested environments.

Qualifications

• Full stack development across frontend, backend and infrastructure.
• Cloud-native environments, containerization and orchestration experience.
• ETL and data pipeline knowledge for diverse data sources.
• Familiarity with LLMs, RAG, and agent orchestration.
• Strong problem solving and analytical thinking.
• Excellent collaboration and communication across teams.
• Willingness to learn new tech and adapt to evolving scope.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend systems for Federal customers using cloud-native AI infrastructure.
• Build features for agentic systems including guardrails and data retrieval optimization.
• Develop data pipelines and ML infrastructure to expose data to agents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver backend solutions for secure environments.
• Participate in customer engagements to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Define requirements with stakeholders and implement features until accepted.
• Contribute to the platform roadmap and product strategy for the Federal business.
