Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a Software Engineer II for the Agentic AI Foundations team to design, build, and harden a secure agent platform used across the company, guided by senior engineers.

You’ll apply strong knowledge of LLMs, agentic AI, and GPU serving, and contribute to evaluation tooling, safety controls, and scalable backend systems that power enterprise workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, ML/AI, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience in distributed systems or backend platforms.
• Strong knowledge of large language models and agentic AI systems, including architectures and tooling.
• Experience with GPU computing and model-serving infrastructure (CUDA, vLLM, Triton, etc.).
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Java, Go, Python) and cloud-native work.
• Ability to work in ambiguous, early-stage problems with guidance from senior engineers.
• Proven track record of technical performance and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build components of a vendor-agnostic agent platform including orchestration, tool use, memory, and runtime systems.
• Implement evaluation and reliability tooling to measure agent performance and safety in production.
• Contribute to safety and governance controls such as guardrails and policy enforcement.
• Develop data grounding, retrieval, and memory components for context-aware agents.
• Prototype agent behaviors with real internal workflows as proving grounds.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to implement agent-powered workflows.
• Refine best practices for secure, observable, and scalable agent systems.
• Bring knowledge of LLMs, GPU computing, and model serving to engineering discussions.
