Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks a Federal Construction Project Manager (PM) to oversee government projects from award through closeout, including budgets, schedules, and subcontractor management. This role requires strong communication with owners and government representatives, RFIs/submittals processing, and strict adherence to QC/QCP standards.

The position is local to the DMV/Hyattsville area with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of project management on federal government construction projects.
  • Experience managing federal government construction contracts and projects.
  • Strong understanding of drawings, specs, and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with scheduling and budget management.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and vendor relationships.
  • Experience with subcontractor buyouts, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Experience with Schedule of Values development and management.
  • Experience invoicing and contract administration for projects.
  • Experience managing change orders; knowledge of APPs and QCPs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage federal construction projects from award through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasting reports.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, buyouts, and contract administration.
  • Review and process RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Manage project invoicing, Schedule of Values, and financial reporting.
  • Negotiate and process project change orders.
  • Coordinate activities with owners, government reps, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Support development and management of APPs and QCPs.
  • Monitor performance, costs, schedules, risks, and compliance.
  • Conduct project meetings and provide updates to leadership and clients.
  • Ensure delivery on schedule and within budget.

Federal Construction Project Manager (PM)

Location: Hyattsville, MD
Work Arrangement: Must be local to the DMV/Hyattsville area and able to work from the client's home office while traveling to project sites as required.
Duration: 12+ Months (Start: 9/28)
Type: 1099 Contractor with Opportunity for Direct Hire W2

Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation: $66/hr (1099) or $125,000 Salary (W2)
  • Travel Reimbursement: IRS Mileage Reimbursement and Applicable Per Diem for Project Site Travel
  • Pay Frequency: Weekly (1099)

Join a federal government construction contractor supporting Department of Defense, NAVFAC, and other federal construction projects. Project scope includes government facility renovations, infrastructure improvements, building construction, mechanical systems, utility work, and multi-trade federal construction activities.

The Federal Project Manager will oversee project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, RFIs, invoicing, change orders, quality control requirements, and client communications while ensuring successful execution of federal construction contracts from award through closeout.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ Years of Project Management Experience on Federal Government Construction Projects
