The ideal candidate has hands-on federal personnel security experience, NBIS eApp familiarity, and strong MS Office skills. Security clearances and Tier 4 eligibility are considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of specialized experience as a Personnel Security Assistant.
• Experience initiating and reviewing NBIS eApp background investigation applications.
• Experience conducting NCIC/NLETS inquiries and performing credit checks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Determine level of initial investigation or reinvestigation based on position designation requirements.
• Conduct preliminary record checks using CVS to verify reciprocal investigations.
• Initiate NBIS eApp for background investigation forms.
• Assist applicants with NBIS eApp access and processing issues.
• Review background information for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify discrepancies and determine if additional inquiries are required.
• Support processing of initial investigations and reinvestigations for federal staff and contractors.
• Fingerprint applicants and employees for personnel security processing.
• Perform NCIC/NLETS inquiries as needed.
• Conduct credit checks as part of the process.
• Coordinate with federal employees, contractors, and agencies on requirements and case status.
• Maintain accurate personnel security records and PII handling.
