Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation in the United States is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to support industrial buildings and utility systems across multiple locations, including Overland Park, KS and other sites.

You will contribute to HVAC, plumbing, and chiller design, size equipment, and participate in energy studies and code compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 1 year related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR search).
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for HVAC, plumbing, and chillers in industrial facilities.
• Collaborate with equipment partners to select optimal technical solutions.
• Develop Mechanical Quality Plans and perform equipment sizing using layouts and OEM data.
• Support project delivery methods and various facility types including industrials.
• Conduct energy audits, system performance reviews, and code compliance assessments.
