Job summary

Steampunk is seeking an IT Portfolio Manager to lead portfolio optimization for a large federal technology portfolio, targeting elimination of redundant investments and measurable cost avoidance and savings.

You will conduct portfolio analysis, develop audit-ready cost analyses, and partner with financial stakeholders to report on risk, savings, and mission-aligned investments. Local to Baltimore metro area, willing to go on client site at least 2 days a week.

Qualifications

• U.S. government security clearance (ability to obtain/maintain).
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8+ years in IT portfolio management or technology investment analysis.
• Proven ability to build audit-ready cost analyses distinguishing savings vs avoidance.
• Strong financial/cost analysis skills; experience with CPIC or TBM.

Responsibilities

• Conduct IT portfolio analysis and deliver quarterly optimization recommendations.
• Deliver Redundant Investment Identification Report and Shared Services Adoption Roadmap.
• Build cost impact analyses distinguishing cost savings from cost avoidance.
• Feed duplication and risk findings into inventory and executive dashboards.
• Document and validate cost avoidance and savings for quarterly performance.
