Job summary

Steampunk is seeking an IT Investment Analyst to provide the analytical foundation behind the program's portfolio optimization and cost-avoidance targets on a large federal advisory program. You will reconcile data across financial, acquisition, scheduling, and performance systems, support cost impact analyses, and contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; 5+ years of total experience.
• Experience distinguishing cost avoidance from cost savings in audit-ready format.
• Experience reconciling data across multiple systems (finance, acquisition, scheduling, performance).
• Strong data analysis, financial modeling, and Excel/PowerPoint skills.
• Strong written communication for analytic, audit-ready reporting.

Overview

Contributions

• Support development of Cost Impact Analyses distinguishing cost savings from cost avoidance toward the program's annual target
• Support reconciliation of data across financial, acquisition, scheduling, and performance systems for program-level reporting
• Contribute research supporting the Redundant Investment Identification Report and Shared Services Adoption Roadmap
• Support monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, and 5+ years of total experience
• 3-5+ years of business or financial analysis experience
• Experience distinguishing and validating cost avoidance from cost savings in an audit-ready format
• Experience reconciling data across multiple systems or data sources (e.g., financial, acquisition, scheduling, performance)
• Strong data analysis, financial modeling, and Excel/PowerPoint skills
• Strong written communication skills for analytical, audit-ready reporting

Preferred:

• Experience with federal budget or acquisition processes
• Experience supporting IT portfolio or investment management functions
• Familiarity with federal IT investment frameworks such as Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) or Technology Business Management (TBM)

The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $170,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
