Job summary

GAP Solutions Inc. seeks a Junior Human Resource Specialist in Columbus, OH to support managers, staff and DHS/ICE/OHC/HROC on staffing, classification, benefits, recruitment, compensation, policy and labor relations.

You will process payroll actions, maintain personnel records, assist with SOPs, and provide broad HR guidance while coordinating calendars, travel, and meetings. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents and may participate in travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required OR 3 years of federal Human Resources experience as equivalent.
• Knowledge of Health and Human Services Guidelines for federal drug testing and a valid driver’s license when a Task Order includes drug testing tasks.
• U.S. citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency and residence in the United States or its territories for at least three of the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Process personnel and payroll actions, keying payroll documents and processing leave audits.
• Create vacancy, retirement and payroll folders and maintain personnel records.
• Research waiver and hearing requests and compile information on federal HR topics.
• Assist with drafting SOPs and processing FERCCA cases as needed.
• Provide HR guidance to applicants and staff and maintain employee files.
• Coordinate calendars, screen calls, arrange travel, plan conferences and prepare agendas.
• Open mail and file documents in accordance with agency guidelines; monitor supplies and SharePoint uploads.
• Resolve pay-setting errors and provide advice on base pay, overtime or leave entitlements.
