Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Director of Government Relations to lead federal advocacy for policy, regulatory, legislative and budget objectives. Based in Herndon, VA with some telecommuting, this role requires deep knowledge of U.S.

government processes and the ability to build relationships with legislative and executive branches. The successful candidate will manage outreach strategy, coordinate interactions with industry groups, and clearly communicate Vantor positions to senior officials.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate with integrity in a collaborative team environment.
• Knowledge of legislative and executive processes and budgeting cycle.
• Experience on Capitol Hill or with government agencies (10+ years).
• Strong writing and interpersonal skills for executives and officials.
• Self-starter with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably Political Science.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Some travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Foster relationships to educate lawmakers and decision-makers on Vantor products and technologies.
• Develop, drive, and manage legislative and executive branch outreach strategy.
• Monitor and influence federal policy and regulatory trends affecting aerospace and defense.
• Understand government customer processes with focus on DoD, IC, and DHS.
• Collaborate with business functions to ensure coordinated messaging.
• Represent Vantor in industry groups and associations and develop strategies.
• Prepare and edit correspondence, white papers, presentations, and communications.
