Job summary

LAC Federal is seeking an experienced Electronic Resources Librarian to support a federal library in the Dayton, OH area. The role manages electronic resources, digital collections, and the library website for 1,200+ Government users worldwide, in a highly specialized scientific and technical intelligence environment.

Responsibilities include metadata management, authentication services, and collaboration with technical staff to advance information services while ensuring secure access.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum three (3) years of professional experience managing electronic resources, digital collections, integrated library systems, or library technologies.
• Demonstrated experience administering electronic journals, databases, digital subscriptions, or electronic resource management systems.
• Experience working with content management systems (CMS), library websites, digital repositories, or institutional repositories.
• Knowledge of metadata standards and library resource description practices.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required Government security credentials.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the library website and CMS, ensuring 24/7 access to licensed electronic resources and digital collections.
• Manage electronic journals, subscription databases, and digital publications.
• Create and maintain descriptive metadata for electronic resources.
• Configure and maintain user authentication, remote access, proxy services, and access controls.
• Monitor resource availability and troubleshoot access issues with vendors.
• Generate and analyze usage statistics, prepare monthly reports, and provide recommendations to improve collection utilization.
• Support implementation of user notification services and discovery tools on the website.
• Coordinate with librarians and government customers to publish digital content within the CMS.
• Assist with website enhancements, search improvements, metadata quality, and user experience initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, cybersecurity requirements, and government regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve electronic resource management and adopt emerging technologies.
