Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Minimum 3 years of verifiable civilian law enforcement experience or equivalent armed forces experience with arrest authority.
• Completion of a certified law enforcement training academy or program recognized by appropriate authorities.
• Must pass pre-placement screening including background, credit and FOIA disclosures.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted state driver's license.
• Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the district's entry and identification system.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds per post orders and procedures.
• Man authorized posts and monitor access control and alarms.
• Provide focused surveillance of entrances to detect threats before screening areas.
• May provide armed escorts for judges and court personnel as required.
• Support off-site and remote judicial functions with controlled access and screening.
• Direct traffic and monitor vehicle and pedestrian activity as directed.
• Provide courtroom security during hearings when assigned.
• Maintain security presence and enforce federal laws in courthouses.
• Log and report incidents and preserve evidence per protocol.
