Job summary

Constellis seeks a Court Security Officer (CSO) to provide protective services around United States Federal Courthouses under USMS contracts. The CSO will perform fixed-post, mobile, or foot patrols, following post orders and facility rules in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities include enforcing entry controls, conducting surveillance of traffic, and maintaining security presence in courtrooms as needed. The role requires strict adherence to licensing, training, and reporting protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable civilian law enforcement experience or an equivalent military position.
• Must have completed a certified law enforcement training program.
• Must pass background check and drug test.
• Must hold a valid, unrestricted state driver's license.
• Fluently read, speak, and compose reports in English.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the District's entry and identification system.
• Test and report emergency equipment.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds.
• Man USMS authorized stationary posts.
• Provide focused surveillance on incoming traffic at entrances.
• May provide armed escort services for judges and court personnel.
• Provide security for off-site judicial functions.
• Direct traffic and monitor access per post orders.
• Occasionally assist with courtroom security during hearings.
• Maintain courtroom security and enforce laws within the courthouse.
• Log incidents and complete required forms within 24 hours.
