Job summary

Constellis is hiring a Court Security Officer to provide protective security at United States Federal Courthouses under a USMS contract. The role involves fixed-post, mobile, and foot patrols, enforcing access control, and safeguarding government property under post orders and protocols.

Requires 3+ years of verifiable law enforcement or equivalent military experience, English fluency, and successful completion of a recognized security training program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable civilian law enforcement experience OR an equivalent Law Enforcement position with the United States Armed Forces.
• Must complete a certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy or program.
• Must pass criminal background screen, drug test and physical exam.
• Must hold a valid, unrestricted state driver''s license.
• Fluently read, speak, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English.
• Must meet medical/physical fitness requirements.
• Must be free from felony conviction.
• No misdemeanor domestic violence conviction per 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9).

Responsibilities

• Enforce the District''s entry and identification system.
• Test and Report Emergency Equipment.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds.
• Man USMS authorized stationary posts.
• Provide focused surveillance on incoming traffic to entrances.
• May provide armed escort services for judges and court personnel.
• Provide security for off-site and remote judicial functions.
• Direct traffic and monitor lights as per post orders.
• Occasionally provide courtroom security during hearings.
• Provide courtroom security and enforce federal law and judicial orders.
• Log and report incidents within 24 hours.
• Keep supervisors informed of unusual occurrences.
• Monitor alarms, radio traffic and other information sources.
• Address fire alarms, burglar alarms and requests for assistance.
• Screen and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering/exiting facilities.
• Use issued equipment properly.
• Prevent passage of prohibited articles.
• Escort individuals or vehicles as required.
• Maintain licensing, certifications, training and employment records.
• Communicate via radios/phones per rules.
• Monitor and protect government property.
• Log property movements and security activity.
• Ensure security of government property and detain unauthorized individuals as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections.
• Issue badges/passes to authorized personnel.
• Monitor access control and RFID systems.
