Job summary

Constellis is seeking a Court Security Officer to provide protective services at federal courthouses and other sites under USMS contracts. The role involves fixed-post, mobile, and foot patrols with oversight from a Lead CSO and District Supervisor, and union support.

Responsibilities include enforcing entry controls, patrolling facilities, supervising traffic, and potentially providing armed escort services. Candidates must meet law enforcement prerequisites and pass screenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable civilian law enforcement experience OR an equivalent Law Enforcement position with the United States Armed Forces.
• Must have completed a certified law enforcement training academy or program recognized by a federal, state, local or military authority.
• Must pass pre-placement screening including background check and drug test.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted state driver's license.
• Fluently read, speak, comprehend, and compose reports in English.

Responsibilities

• Shall enforce the District's entry and identification system.
• Test and Report Emergency Equipment.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds per post orders.
• Shall man USMS authorized stationary posts.
• Provide focused surveillance on incoming traffic to entrances.
• May provide armed escort services for judges and court personnel.
• Provide security for off-site and remote judicial functions.
• Direct traffic and monitor vehicles and pedestrians as required.
• May assist with courtroom security during hearings.
• Maintain security presence in the courtroom and enforce federal law and orders.
• Log and report articles found; complete CSO-003 within 24 hours.
• Keep supervisors informed of unusual occurrences.
