Job summary
Jobot is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent / SSHO to lead field operations on government and military projects in the Chicagoland area. The dual-role emphasizes project execution and site safety leadership with a strong background in federal construction and strict compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA.

- Experience managing federal construction projects
Responsibilities
- Lead all onsite construction activities from mobilization through project closeout
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and self-perform crews
- Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestones are achieved
- Conduct daily coordination meetings and oversee work sequencing
- Review plans, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to ensure quality execution
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and owner walkthroughs
- Track productivity, manpower, equipment utilization, and project progress
- Maintain project documentation including daily reports, photos, and field records
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements
- Serve as Site Safety and Health Officer on federal projects
- Develop, implement, and maintain Accident Prevention Plans
- Prepare and review Activity Hazard Analyses for all definable features of work
- Conduct daily safety inspections and audits
- Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee training sessions
- Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations
- Coordinate with government safety representatives and project stakeholders
- Investigate incidents and safety concerns with corrective actions
- Maintain safety documentation and reporting requirements
- Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions exist
