Job Summary

Assist the Department of Student Orientation, Leadership, Engagement (SOLE) to effectively support student organizations and leadership programs. Provide office support, maintain departmental records, and coordinate daily operations.

Responsibilities
  • Handle routine office inquiries from employees and students.
  • Assist with day‑to‑day departmental maintenance and responsibilities.
  • Perform clerical functions including answering phones, filing, scheduling, and organizing.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current enrollment: at least half‑time (6 credit hours per semester for undergraduates; 3 credit hours per semester for graduate students).
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 overall GPA for undergraduates or 3.0 for graduate students.
  • Active file with the Office of Financial Aid and annual submission of a FAFSA application.
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non‑citizen with an Alien Registration Number.
  • Proficiency with personal computer workstations and common software applications.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication, problem‑analysis, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and use multiple software programs.
  • Valid academic standing in accordance with TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).
Physical Requirements

The position requires on‑campus, face‑to‑face interactions and maintaining a regular attendance schedule. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly wage: $8.00 per hour for up to 19 hours weekly. Positions are security‑sensitive; applicants may be subject to a criminal history investigation and must complete required training and submit time sheets biweekly.
