Job summary

Education or related experience can qualify at multiple grade levels. Compensation ranges from base pay at GL-5 to GS-11 with career advancement to GS-12, plus health, retirement, and other federal benefits.

Qualifications

• Education or experience in public safety or law enforcement may qualify for entry/mid levels (GL-5 to GS-11).
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study may qualify for GL-5.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify for higher grades.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of immigration and customs violations.
• Maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations.
• Interpreting evidence of illegal entry and contraband and conducting checks and patrols.
• Patrolling the international boundary and coordinating with various assets to meet mission.
