Job summary

Peraton is seeking a full-time background investigator near Atlanta, GA. The role requires residence within 15 miles of downtown Atlanta and involves extensive travel for in-person fieldwork to assess employment suitability for sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.

You will complete a 6–7 week training, conduct face-to-face interviews, perform records searches, and report findings in a government system. A Top Secret eligible clearance is preferred and U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Must have fast and accurate typing with high level of attention to detail.
• Proficient writing and reporting abilities for government systems.
• Ability to work independently within a team of Investigators and with a Field Manager.

Responsibilities

• Complete 6–7 week training to be certified in Federal Investigative Standards.
• Travel daily to conduct in-person bg investigations for government security clearances.
• Schedule and conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects and references; collect records.
• Perform records searches at police, court, school, financial and health facilities.
• Document findings clearly in government computer systems.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct during fieldwork.
