Job summary

Factory is seeking innovative Software Engineers to join our founding Federal team. You will build AI systems for government software organizations, working with DoD, IC, and federal civilian agencies to operate in secure, air-gapped environments and to advance autonomous software factories.

Responsibilities include designing AI-driven agents, deploying in GovCloud and on-premises, building secure and auditable systems, and collaborating with product, engineering, and federal go-to-market teams

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on software engineering after degree.
• Proficiency with LLMs and AI/ML techniques for complex problems.
• Self-motivated and autonomous, with ability to drive from concept to deployment.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort working directly with customers, including on-site time.
• Passion for public sector work and government impact through technology.
• Experience deploying software in regulated or secure environments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with government procurement, compliance, and ATO processes is a plus.
• Experience with data-intensive apps and software development lifecycle is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven agentic systems for federal missions.
• Deploy and harden Factory Platform in GovCloud, on-prem, classified, and air-gapped networks.
• Incorporate security and compliance with FedRAMP High and DoD IL5/IL6 requirements.
• Build guardrails, observability, and explainability into agents for trust and auditability.
• Engage with federal customers on-site to define requirements and own delivery from prototype to production.
• Integrate Factory with on-premises tools, CI/CD, source control, ticketing, and DoD factories.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and Federal go-to-market teams on roadmap and proposals.
• Prototype and refine AI features based on real feedback to fit government needs.
• Address stability and scalability to support large-scale operations in constrained environments.
• Lead exploration of large-scale data processing to improve system reliability.
• Represent federal customer voice to shape reusable capabilities across public sector.
