Job summary

Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) on the College Station campus is seeking a Communications Specialist II within the Engineering Communications Group. The role focuses on writing news features highlighting faculty, students and research for the Engineering News site and identifying storytelling opportunities across print, multimedia, social, online and media relations.

The Communications Specialist II will assist the content strategy team with content review and creation as needed,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Master’s degree in journalism, communications or science and technology journalism.

Responsibilities

  • Focuses on elevating the high-level, strategic news of Texas A&M Engineering.
  • Researches, interviews, and writes press releases and feature articles highlighting the faculty, staff and research for the Engineering News site.
  • Proactively manages tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborates with the multimedia, social media and design teams to develop and implement content packages to accompany stories.
  • Assists with content review and creation as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
