Company Overview

Shipco Transport Inc., a leading international cargo transportation company, has an immediate opening at our CHI branch located in Franklin Park, IL for an experienced FCL Export Customer Service Coordinator.

Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Full Container Load (FCL) Ocean Export Customer Service Coordinator to join our dynamic logistics team. This role is critical in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service for our ocean export shipments. The ideal candidate will have experience in ocean freight, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to both internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Service & Coordination:
   • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding FCL ocean export shipments.
   • Communicate with clients to confirm shipment details, ensure compliance with export regulations, and provide shipment updates.
   • Address and resolve customer inquiries, issues, and concerns professionally and promptly.
2. Shipment Planning & Coordination:
   • Coordinate the preparation of export documentation, including Bills of Lading, Export Declarations, etc.
   • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth handling and timely departures of shipments.
   • Monitor shipment status and ensure milestones are met according to expectations.
3. Vendor & Carrier Management:
   • Liaise with ocean carriers for container bookings and vessel schedules.
   • Negotiate rates, track bookings, and escalate issues to meet customer requirements.
4. Documentation & Compliance:
   • Ensure shipments comply with export regulations and verify documentation accuracy.
   • Assist with customs issues and work closely with the compliance team.
5. Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution:
   • Identify and address shipment issues proactively to ensure customer satisfaction.
   • Investigate discrepancies and delays, providing solutions or alternatives.
6. Reporting & Record Keeping:
   • Maintain records of shipments and generate regular performance reports.
