Job summary

DP Electric, a premier commercial electrical contractor, seeks a Project Engineer to support fast-turn special projects. You will document changes, track submittals, and coordinate with general contractors and owners, learning to scope work from site walk-throughs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of hands-on electrical construction experience, or equivalent exposure to electrical installation work.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Preferred: Journeyman-level electrical knowledge and field experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience in service, special projects, or fast-turn electrical work.
• Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Procore, or Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Own the Documentation: Maintain change order logs; establish and manage RFI logs; track and review submittals; own end-of-project closeout documentation.
• Learn to Scope and Price: Walk jobs with PMs to learn scoping from existing conditions; support material and labor takeoffs; build knowledge of installation methods.
• Support the Field and the Client: Align plans with field execution; monitor QA; communicate with owners, facility staff, general contractors, and trade partners; resolve technical inquiries.
