Job summary

DP Electric Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Project Engineer to support fast‑turn special projects and keep documentation accurate—from change orders and RFIs to submittals.

You will learn to scope jobs from the field rather than from drawings and coordinate with general contractors and trade partners. This role emphasizes on‑the‑job learning, price takeoffs for proposals, and a growing mastery of electrical installation methods.

Qualifications

• Two years hands‑on electrical construction experience or equivalent exposure to electrical installation work.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Journeyman-level electrical knowledge and field experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or Microsoft Project is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain change order logs so every project modification is tracked and documented accurately.
• Establish and manage RFI logs, and drive inquiries through to resolution.
• Track and review submittals, coordinating timely execution with the general contractor or owner.
• Own end‑of‑project closeout documentation and deliver it on time.
• Walk jobs alongside project managers to learn how scope is built from existing conditions.
• Support material and labor takeoffs for proposals and change orders.
• Build working knowledge of electrical installation methods, materials, and pricing.
• Work with field leadership to keep plans and field execution aligned.
• Uphold quality assurance and monitor adherence to project specifications.
