Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking a timely and accurate ED Registration Clerk for Hoke Hospital in Raeford, NC. You will register emergency department patients, collect demographics, and ensure proper safety through armband placement.

You will verify insurance eligibility, document information, collect co-pays at discharge, and support ED and clinical partners in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College courses in Business, Medical Office Administration, Health Care Administration, and/or Computer Technology preferred.
• 2 years insurance/clerical experience within a hospital or medical office setting preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.

Responsabilités

• Register emergency department patients and create accounts within 90 seconds of arrival.
• Enter patient demographics and obtain MRN and account number.
• Place patient identification armbands after accounts created for patient safety.
• Document demographic, guarantor, and insurance information during registration.
• Obtain physician orders for observation/admission as needed.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits using an EDI transaction.
• Inform patients of liabilities and collect co-pays/deductibles at discharge.
• Provide coverage of the registration area and support clinical partners as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
