Job summary

Banner Health Urgent Care – East Valley is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare patients, take vital signs, assist with exams, and help with administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.

This role requires completing an approved medical assistant program, active certification, BLS, and strong computer and communication skills. You may float to nearby clinics as needed and must be flexible with shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• Requires strong computer skills and exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment; records vital signs and chief complaint.
• Assists providers with exams and minor procedures; conducts phlebotomy and EKGs as needed.
• Coordinates care including referrals, authorizations, and scheduling; communicates test results.
• Provides clerical support and accurate documentation for billing and medical records.
• Maintains clean, functional exam rooms and sterilizes equipment per guidelines.
• Orders supplies and handles medication management and recalls as directed.
• Develops effective communication with patients and staff; supports team-oriented care.
• Completes onboarding and simulation training as required; works under provider supervision.
