Job summary

Banner Health Urgent Care in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. You will assist with exams, patient assessments, and essential administrative duties in a fast-paced setting, with the ability to float to nearby clinics.

The role requires MA training and active certification, BLS, and readiness to work across multiple urgent care locations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program.
Active Medical Assistant certification required; BLS certification required.
Experience with medical software and strong communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for exams by measuring vital signs and documenting complaints.
Assist providers with exams and minor procedures, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and PPE usage.
Coordinate patient care including referrals, authorizations, scheduling, and communicating test results.
Provide clerical support for medical records and billing information.
Maintain clean and safe clinical environments and proper sterilization practices.
Order supplies and manage medication-related tasks.
Maintain effective communication with patients and staff.
Complete onboarding and simulation training as required.
Work under supervision of providers and collaborate with clinic team.
