Qualifications

• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to work with medical software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs and recording chief complaints.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures, including phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Coordinate patient care, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling; communicate test results.
• Provide clerical support and ensure complete and accurate patient records for billing.
• Maintain a clean environment; disinfect equipment and sanitation per guidelines.
• Order supplies and manage medication recalls and related tasks.
• Develop effective communication with patients and internal/external stakeholders.
• Complete onboarding/orientation activities and simulation training as directed.
• Work under supervision of providers and coordinate with staff across departments.
