Job summary

Banner Health Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in a fast-paced environment. You will perform clinical procedures, patient assessments, and administrative duties to ensure efficient clinic operations.

The role requires flexibility to float to other Banner Urgent Care clinics as needed. Responsibilities include assisting with exams, taking vital signs, managing patient flow, and coordinating care with providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs and documenting chief complaint.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures; perform phlebotomies, EKGs and related tasks.
• Coordinate patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, and scheduling; communicate test results.
• Provide clerical support for medical records, billing, and notifications.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and equipment; follow sterilization and safety procedures.
• Order supplies and manage medication-related tasks such as recalls and expired meds.
• Develop effective communication with patients and staff; support team needs.
• Complete onboarding activities and work under supervision of providers.
