Job summary

Story Land is hiring a Cook for its Food & Beverage team. You will prepare items on hot equipment, keep the kitchen organized, and delight guests with timely, high-quality dishes.

Ideal candidates may have 1+ year of culinary experience and must obtain a Food Handler Safety Certification within 90 days where required. Flex schedule and safety-minded mindset are essential for success at Story Land.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
• Must become Food Handler Safety Certified (ServSafe or similar) or within 90 days of hire, when required by state and local guidelines.
• 1+ year of culinary work experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, assist with questions, and manage accurate transactions to provide an engaging customer experience
• Perform opening and closing procedures related to the assigned Food & Beverage location
• Set up and breakdown of workstation
• Prepare food following proper procedure and safety guidelines using fryers, grills and other professional kitchen equipment
• Prepare food items according to menu specifications, portion sizes and proper cooking temperatures
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and stations
• Store and rotate stock and food items
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and food supplies
• Provide excellent customer service
• Follow all proper PPE guidelines when working around food preparation equipment
• All other duties assigned by leadership
