Food Lion is committed to fast, friendly service at the front end and a positive shopping experience for every customer. This role supports the Customer Service Manager and contributes to store standards through efficient transactions and courteous assistance.

As a Front End associate, you will greet customers, operate the register, bag groceries, and help maintain a clean, organized front end while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name when possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt to ease bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow bagging procedures for proper bag usage.
• Scan orders and handle payment transactions according to standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction.
• Maintain accurate cash control and adhere to guidelines.
