Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking a general farm laborer to perform manual tasks including shoveling, sweeping grain bins, repairing buildings and equipment, operating augers, loading products, and driving to market or storage facilities.

Work is in dusty conditions and may require working inside grain bins with safety gear. English speaking is required, and a driver’s license with a clean record is needed after hire.

Qualifications

• 2 months of experience required for the listed job duties.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to obtain a driver’s license after hire and have a clean driving record.
• May be subject to random drug testing with termination for non-compliance.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools to sweep, clean, and repair grain bins, augers, dryers, and farm buildings.
• Repair fences and farm vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Inspect, grade, sort, store, and post-harvest handling of crops.
• Load agricultural products into trucks and transport to market or storage facilities.

Use hand tools such as shovels, scoops, brooms, for sweeping, cleaning, and repairing grain bins, augers, and dryers; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures as well as farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; Turning levers and knobs to dry grain, sweep bins with hand broom after grain is augured; Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive to market or storage facilities; Must be able to work in dusty conditions and be willing to work inside grain bins; Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate employer provided safety equipment. Must speak and understand English.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 2 months

Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
