Job summary

H2ajobs in Texas seeks a livestock farm worker to attend to cattle, calves and stockers, distribute feed, and assist with daily farm operations on site.

Experience is required and English is required. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, obtain a driver's license after hire, and may be subject to drug testing. Housing and meals are provided by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Attend to live farm animals including cows, calves, stockers.
• Distribute feed to cattle.
• Break ice, thaw water lines.
• Prepare wheat pasture for temporary grazing.
• Maintain records on animals.
• Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate.
• Move livestock between locations and move portable corrals.
• Maintain roads and pens.
• Assist with live births and check newborn calves daily.
• Sort stockers for sale.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 3 months

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
