Job summary

American Pump & Drilling seeks a motivated Pump Sales / Project Manager based in Idaho Falls, focusing on agricultural and farm customers with pump system needs. The role handles opportunities from first contact through project completion, building trust and long-term relationships in the field.

This commission-based position requires strong follow-up, technical understanding, and field presence, with flexibility during peak seasons and ongoing training opportunities offered by APD.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and comfortable working in a commissioned sales role.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple customers, quotes, and projects at the same time.
• Basic technical aptitude and willingness to learn pump systems.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and CRM systems.
• Ability to quickly learn manufacturer design software and internal systems.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally.
• Willingness to attend training sessions, including occasional out-of-state training.
• Availability to respond to urgent customer needs outside of regular business hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and grow strong relationships with agricultural and farm customers.
• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the agricultural, irrigation, dairy, and related markets.
• Follow up consistently with customers, leads, quotes, and active projects.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend appropriate pump system solutions.
• Prepare quotes, proposals, and project scopes.
• Assist customers with pump repairs, replacements, upgrades, and new system needs.
• Coordinate with the internal operations team on project specifications, scheduling, and timelines.
• Manage projects from initial opportunity through completion.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding expectations, timelines, pricing, and project status.
• Diagnose pump system issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Evaluate existing equipment and help design efficient replacement systems.
• Maintain and grow relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers.
• Manage time effectively during both peak and off-peak seasons.
• Represent American Pump & Drilling professionally in the field and with customers.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
