Smithfield is seeking a Production Manager Trainee to learn and become certified across farm departments, gaining a solid understanding of pig production processes, animal welfare, and company systems. The role includes on-the-job training, leadership development, and environmental compliance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related Agricultural field, or enrolled student with anticipated graduation.
• Ability to work an average 48-hour week; weekend/evening/holiday work as needed.
• Willingness to relocate to complete training and first managerial assignment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Strong teamwork and communication in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Learn and become certified in all farm department areas.
• Understand pig production processes, animal flow, farm health, and genetics.
• Perform hourly tasks under supervision and gain certification in each role.
• Prepare reports on experiences and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support environmental, biosecurity, and EMS policies and procedures.
