Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Farm Supervisor focused on biosecurity, animal welfare, and production compliance. You will lead farm managers, implement safety and environmental protocols, and ensure timely market activities across sites.

The role requires 2+ years’ relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field, with on-call availability and a valid driver’s license. Relocation package may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience; leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Learn, understand, and implement all policies related to Biosecurity.
• Follow Smithfield’s Injury Prevention System and EMS requirements.
• Ensure animal welfare and proper care, including housing, water, feed, and humane treatment.
• Evaluate farms’ performance and outline improvement plans.
• Inspect animals for disease or injury and prescribe treatment as needed.
• Oversee animal movements and market-related activities.
• Develop farm managers and employees in production and procedural compliance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws and EMS processes.
• Participate in emergency notifications and on-call coverage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
